Apply for a Scholarship to attend the Massachusetts Library Association Pre-Conference,
Making the Case for Libraries in Tough Times
The MLA is offering 3 scholarships to attend this exciting, one day Pre-Conference on library advocacy. The scholarships are open to anyone who wishes to attend the pre-conference at the Massachusetts Mutual Center in Springfield, MA, May 5, 2009.
Who is eligible?
- All members of the Massachusetts Library Association
- Anyone working in a Massachusetts Library
- Library Science students living in Massachusetts
- Friends and Trustees of a Massachusetts Library
How do I apply?
Applicants must fill out the application form and write a 300-500 word statement answering one of the following questions:
- Why is library advocacy important?
- Describe a time you or someone you admire successfully advocated for a library.
When is the deadline and when are winners announced?
Completed applications must be received by 3/20/09. Winners will be notified by telephone by 4/3/09
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarships cover the cost of registration including lunch on the day of the pre-conference.
