MARCH 13, 2020
After thoughtful discussion, the Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) regrets to announce it is cancelling the 2020 Massachusetts Library Association annual conference being held at the Cape Cod Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis.
‘We are deeply disappointed to have to make this decision to cancel our annual conference, but we have to put safety first as the health and well-being of our library community, speakers and exhibitors (many of whom travel quite a distance to participate), employees and local residents is our top priority,’ says Esme Green, President, MLA. ‘As we face unprecedented disruptions in our personal and professional lives, please be well, treat others with compassion, and we will see you at Conference next year.’
The MLA2021 conference will be held on May 17-19, 2021 at the Cape Cod Resort and Conference Center. We hope you’ll save the date and participate in what we hope will be an outstanding conference.
We are also actively looking into offering other online learning and engagement opportunities later in 2020 and hope to be able to announce more details on those in the near future.
All hotel reservations have been cancelled and a cancellation confirmation email was sent directly from the hotel. No further action is needed. If you did not receive a cancellation confirmation, please let Kristen Collins, Conference Director know.
MLA2020 speakers, exhibitors and sponsors will be contacted with further information regarding next steps. Please visit our FAQ for answers to commonly asked questions. Please contact Kristen Collins, Conference Director for immediate concerns pertaining to exhibits and sponsorship. Questions pertaining to conference speakers and programming can be sent to the MLA Conference Committee. Any further updates regarding MLA2020 and MLA2021 will be published on this website.
